Accredited until freedom is barely a memory

The Road To Serfdom in cartoons

“What’s good in war is good in peace.”  That would be Taylor’s Scientific Management enforced by factory inspectors.

Call them “assessors” – they don’t work for the government any more.  Instead, the metagovernment assures that few industries are allowed to continue working without assessment.

Hence BS 5750.  Hence ISO management standards.

See how one thing leads to another until freedom is barely a memory.

Click the cartoon above to read the abridged version of Ludwig von Mises’ seminal description of the rise of fascism.  The Strong Men of the 1930s were replaced by the strong organisations of the inspection cartel.
